Rob, I've used the Plastic Renew before, and it was alot of work preparing the plastic by sanding it several times over, of course if your careful you can use a power sander for faster results, any how the results were fantastic when I was finished. The only problem was it was like a clear coat finish over the plastic and scratched very easily and took alot of upkeep to keep it looking good.

I just read on another forum where this guy uses a propane torch to re-heat the plastic which in the molding process of the plastic, heat give the new looking shine. The heat in this case I guess melts the very small scratches & he said it look like it came off the showroom floor. He said watch you dont stay in one place too long & stay away from any gas sources. I think I'm a little afraid to try it though. Has any one else tried this?

I use plain ole' silicone spray lube. Spray it on, let sit for few minutes and gently rub it off. Make it shine and repels mud and water well. Best brand I have found is Pyroil.

I used a heat gun to heat the plastic to a
shine. It might sound foolish but it works, it melts the dull finish into a shine. I've used it on my Jetski to redo the bumpers and the sponsons.

I'm gonna try it on my TRX gas tank. It's all
faded out and nasty looking
