air fliters?

Default air fliters?

guys, I just bought a can am outlander XT 400cc and im looking for a simple mod.. can you just slap a K&N in and be done with it? Do you need to do anything else?

also, what stores sell these

I saw something about a lid and UNI filters in here also? Which is better?

CF, you sure can just drop it in and go. I don't run the pre filter. I don't oil the filter during the winter months, just clean it and re-install. I do oil it in the dusty summer months.
I didn't have to re-jet at all. It ran fine just plug and play. After a fashion I had a local genius (D+D Powersports) dial in the carb just a bit. It wasn't really needed, but I have been taking the "little bit here, little bit there" approach to tweaking it.
My next mod will be a pipe. I finally found one. What I am going for is low to mid rpm pull. It runs fine on top for a 400.

John, thanks for the info again. I read where someone on here re jetted after the filter so I didnt know if you had to do that or not.

what kinda pipe are you looking at also? Im new to this so does that replace the muffler or piping before the muffler?
