roller clutch sprig setting stock spring

i have a 2000 scrambler 500 and cant find a happy setting right now i have it set at 1 and 3 the 3 is in the roller i have better low but it seems that at the top i might be loosing some speed i am not relly sure i have talked with aaeen and he saya to keep playing with it i find this annoying i am useing the stock spring that is the reason for the 3 has anyone used this clutch in this way and has a good setting HELP

What other mods do you have on your 500?

Clutching is not an exact science, meaning what works for me may not work for you, so there is no perfect formula to it. I guess thats a good thing about auto's, they can be tuned to each and every riders desires/riding style.

I'm suprised Olav didn't get you to try a new spring with the roller. A good place to start is the 2&2 position. Also spend $20 and get the tuning book to become more familiar with the CVT.

Unfortunatley I can't give you a direct answer, you just have to continue trying differnet settings, as time consuming as it may be. Oh, the perils of owning a Polaris!
