Help Please!! Blaster Clutch Problem!!
#1
I need to remove the inner hub of the clutch on my Blaster. I have already taken out the outerhub and the friction plates. There is a large nut in the center of the inner clutch hub. How do you remove this bolt. I tried for about an hour today before givving up. When you try to turn it, the wheels turn, when it is in gear, and in neutral the hub just turns. Is there a tool I need get or what. I have tried everything and this nut will not budge. The torque specs are 58 ft/lbs, so it is on there pretty good. Please help.

I don't know whether this will help, but in the shop manual for my Warrior it shows a special Yamaha tool to hold the rotor while the nut is turned. You might call the Yamaha dealer's service dept. & ask them if they use another method to break it loose. Theyre usually pretty good about giving advice. For the price that they get for their special tools they must be really proud of them.

I got a Motion Pro Clutch tool from Dennis Kirk for this purpose. They are about $30. Before I had that, I used a homemade tool. The Motion Pro unit is better. You will save money in the end because you won't break your clutch boss.
The tool is basically a ViseGrip with long bent tangs on it that fit into the splines on the boss.
