Yamaha Raptor 350 Stage 1 or 2 Cam ??
I have a standard 350 Raptor, and have ordered the following ?
Yoshi Slip on Comp, Dyna CDI, K&N, Stage 1 and 2 Jet Kit,14t Front Sprocket,Full Gasket set.
Now I looking at the Cam, has anyone bought a stage 1 then regretted it or vice versa , looking at the Dyno readings on Hot Cams looks like you loose a lot low down on the Stage 2.
I will Remove the Air box Lid, but cant change the piston as there is no facility to bore stuff out here in Angola, maybe I can do some head porting, but that?s about it.
Any advice welcome, just wondering what the power increase will be to ?

Don't get a hotcam. Their design uses the stock valve springs, which weren't designed to handle higher lifts or durations, and the steep lobes that come with it. Hotcams intentionally makes their cams mild enough that they will work with the stock valves, but the valves still float way too easily and the springs will even soften up and break over time from the added stresses.
for about the same price as a hotcam you can get a webcam, which is a better part to begin with, plus titanium valve springs. You'll be much happier with this setup. I've seen a lot of hotcams owners switching to a real cam and springs because they didn't like how the hotcam performed.
As far as getting different grind cams, it depends on your personal preferences and riding styles, as well as other mods you already have. (Hotcams is the only cam maker that actually sells cams in "stages". But generally the more aggressive of a grind you get, the more top end and midrange power you get, but you also may loose some bottom end power at the same time. Most guys will throw in a high compression piston when they do a more aggressive cam to compensate for the loss of low end power.

I also agree with the web-cam. I have one in my raptor 350 with similar upgrades (in profile). I also added a high compression piston and this thing pulls hard on bottom from the piston and hard on mid-top from the bigger lift cam. P.S. I went with a .430 lift cam.
