Complete vs. Slip-On

I am going to ask a question, but I think i may know the answer already !!! I have heard alot about a "complete" or a "Slip-On" Exhaust system... Is a Complete System a Header Pipe and Silencer? And is a Slip-On on just a Silencer? If i am wrong, please explain ..
