Its been awhile since complete rebuild on euther of my R's.For break-ins always jet to RICH side & keep premix close to stock{20 to 1} ..no more than 32 to 1, you can change later if you problem with fouling.First get a good idle,wait til motor is warm to adjust airscrew..should be real close at 2 1/2 turns out from bottom.let it warm up thouroghly even if you have to hold the choke up a little DO NOT wing throttle,also leave radiator cap off at first to make sure it has a full system,also can check for good circulation & check for trans oil leaks etc.,don't forget to put cap on after you are satisfied everything is OK.After motor is
warmed up ride it!,stay off for throttle.
My advice is to ride it where you can easily keep an even throttle 1/4 to1/2 for along time{honda manual suggest something like 3-5 hours}
even if you have to just ride in circles sorta speak.After this let machine cool down completely before riding again {check coolant&maybe change oil make sure no burnt smell}..do not be in a hurry to ride it hard, full throttle for awhile may be 10 hours.thats about all I remember...Good Luck ..Let us know how it goes.

when you start it up let it idle a couple times (2-3) for around 15-30 minutes before you ride it, then be nice and easy on it, wind it out every couple minutes or so when riding just for a second or two, big thing with 2-strokes is having the engine totally warmed up before you go riding, cold siezure is a horrible thing.. http://www.geocities.com/yamahabanshee96/right.jpg
Never re-use circlips, make sure the rings are lined up and you shouldnt have any problems.

first of all, I wouldn't overly richen your air fuel mixture or mix more oil into your gas. more oil into your gas means less gas in the mix, and leaner jetting and a hotter engine. I would jet it correctly for winter riding, use your normal mixture ratio with a good non synthetic oil, and break it in nicely. Some people say breakin isn't necessary, but I for one have found it to be.

for the coolant, just warm the engine up and feel all the coolant lines by hand, they will be warm as well as the radiator being warm.

good luck
