I'll try to explain this the best way I can. It has been down for awhile and I'm sick of it taking up space so I want to get it running to get rid of it. Awhile back, when my quad first started to give me problems, I found that there was dirt in the gas tank. I cleaned the gas tank and it would run at idle but once I would try to drive it, the think would just stall. I've asked around and was told that the jets needed to be cleaned. Now, the jets probably still need cleaned, but it isn't even starting up anymore. When I push the start button, I get some sort of a grinding noise. I haven't been able to figure this one out. It might have something to do with the jets but I have no idea.Any help would be really appreciated.

Sounds like the batterys dead or a starter problem. The jets probably are plugged , but it should still turn over. What year is it and how much do you want for it?Is it a 4x4?

charge the battery to make sure it is fully charged. Take the bottom off the carb, remove the main jet, look inside it, clean if needed, clean the bottom of the carb that you took off. Put it back together.

ok...I cleaned the jets and still the same problem. I noticed that the grinding like noise was coming from this little box beside the battery. It is about a 1" cube. The positive wires comes out of the battery and into this box, then another wires comes out of this box. Anyone have any idea what that little box is?

It's a '99 and two wheel drive. Not sure what I am selling for, there is someone I know interested in it so I'll probably sell it him.

I dont know what the box is...maybe a starter solenoid? You did not mention if the battery was fully charged.

Oh yeah, when you cleaned the tank did you filter the gas and put the same gas back in?

The battery is fully charged and when I cleaned the gas tank, I put new gas in. I think I'm going to talk to the dealer this weekend so I can get this thing running.
