check the back of the ATV mags. There are slavage yards that sale parts. There was also an article at the ATV connection called "budget racer". It was using the parts from a 250R 3 wheeler and building a quad. They used the parts from the three wheeler--motor, swingarm, etc. Many have also built a 350RX. using the 250R or 250X frame and installing the 350X motor. As far as a price for a frame. You can pick up a used LT250R (suzuki) frame or a Honda 250X/300EX frame fairly cheap ($300 - $500). But you will pay around $700 for a used honda 250R frame. You can also check the classified ads at the ATV Connection. They have a lot of parts and acceries being sold. Ebay is another good place.

What are the price differences between the "race chassis" (lonestar, Laeger...and others). 'd like to do this myself. Find some good TOUGH frame, and fit in wether a 500CR (or KX) 2 stroke, or if I can find one, a suzuki DR 779cc thumper (). I don't know if I should make a cheap machine that will run after 2 months or the ultimate quad (to me, of course), that might take much longer, mainly for $$$ reasons...especially when I think about shocks....ouch! that is gonna hurt bad!! Maybe I'll try to get cheap other parts, and good shocks...or maybe try to do something really different from the production...but that would need quite some R&D to work properly...maybe
