Banshee TOR elimanator, for real
#11
TOR stands for throttle override system. It is a safety device used to kill the ignition, incase throttle slides would stick open without thumb throttle depressed. The advantage of getting rid of them is.The carb is made of very soft metal, the threads that hold the cap on strip very easily. If cross threaded because of these big bulkie tops.Costing you a carb

This is not totally about the TOR system, but does a banshee have a rev limiter, also what is a easy way of adjusting or sycro. the carbs. on a banshee. Also mine seems to idle to low, is there a single screw to adjust the idel of both carbs?

I got rid of the TORS on mine and it gained a little on top end. It responds better to throttle now and the old TORS did strip my carbs threads so I bought new ones for $100 with the caps and new cable and idle kit. Those things are worthless and just ruin your carbs.

The TOR system was a poor design no other race bikes have this on the carbs i have had nothing but problems with the tor system on 2 banshees and a blaster they say it shuts the motor down with the slide sticks not on the blaster the throttle stuck 3 times and off with that POS And the banshee it would not rev as soon as u hit the gas the bike would stall out i cleaned the carbs checked the whole bike over 4 a problem then i knew it was electrical so off with the tos system and the bike ran fine
I think this is the best thing u can do to a banshee so u dont lose ride time over that TOS system

The carbs on my 87 Banshee have to be rebuilt because the TORS ruined the threads and allowed dirt in the carbs which wore out the slides.
So once you remove the TORS off your beloved Banshee, place the TORS on a hard surface like a concrete floor or rock. Once this is done, grab a sledge hammer and begin to pound with great vigor.

Thanks for all the input, My TORs have not caused me any probs. and they won't get a chance to, they are gone.
I think I like the last solution the best, and I do have a sledge...
