help me start racing

the kit that i brought has an alba pipe (i think it is a dg), kn filter, outerware, jet kit and torque stuffer. What difference does it make to have all the disks on than having none on. Also to get more acceleration, does the back sprocket should be increased in size or decreased. Thanks for all the help.

The discs are for tuning your pipe, More discs = more top end, less discs = more bottom end. To gear the bike for more top end speed the back sprocket must go smaller, the front bigger. It is cheaper to buy a front sprocket than a back one. 1 tooth bigger on the front is the same as about 3-4 smaller on the back. Tire size will also play a factor in your top speed, smaller tire = less speed, bigger tire = more.

I must say after racing quads for 11 years now the VERY frist thing you should do is to set up your handling ,cuz if you soup up your engine the quad won't be able to handle the track going that fast. so do the ride before you do the motor or your not going to go any faster than the handling will let you. in closing why waste your money when you cant go faster with poor handling ..

At last, somebody (Scottbl99) who sees things the way I do! I would also like to stress the point that having the best machine to start racing is a waste of money, You might race 1 or 2 times and for whatever reason you may decide not to race anymore, Then your stuck with a $10g bill and a quad that can only run on race fuel for 10 hours before a rebuild!

I think you should just race. Forget everything else. Just race after you race a couple times you'll know what you need. I raced a stock banshee last year I never won but it was still a blast. I beat other banshee quite a bit even when they had a bunch of modifications. Do it for the fun, the money will just about spend itself. The mods I'm doing this year are mainly all suspension. Good luck.

First of all, do what scott says, beef the suspension. New front A-T Steelers and rebuild the rear to your weight and riding type. Then, if you want to do engine work, get the piston, cam, and valve springs. I also believe all AMA sanctioned events require all ATV's to have a Tether kill switch. I ride a Modified Warrior and race in the 4-stroke class. I placed 2nd overall last year. You can be very competitve in a 4-stroke class with the warrior, even the C class. But, to get to B and A classes, You either gotta dump alot more money into it or, get a 250r or 400ex and put a 440 kit on it. I hope this helps.
