Anybody build a quad with this liquid cooled thumper motor in it yet? Have a friend with a project like this in the developing stages. He had talked to Lobo about a frame and they said they built one already? Anybody seen one done or built one yet?

do a xr650r search of the forums under "project quads and conversions". I did and there was a few topics directed to what your looking for but I didn't look. Also search diffent phrases such as xr650, etc... never know what you will find. Hope that helps.

 

I know 2 guys who are in the process of doing something similar. Can you guess which two guys? hehe Both are using XR600 motors...one is going into a 400EX chassis and the other into a mid-80's LT250 chassis. Neither is very far on their project, so we'll see how it goes. Drop me a line via email for more info on it.

 

I know a guy that just put a DR650 motor in a 98 banshee. The thing looks like it was meant to be in that frame. He has a spare frame I am trying to get to do a stroker in, and I was thinking xr600-650 motor.

He said the swap was relatively easily and the bike rips. Just geared a little high, says it will do 100mph with the gearing it has right now.
