I have a 91 banshee that hasn't been rode to excessive, but it has never had a top end rebuilt. I am going to do it myself, i want to know if there is anything i should look for, or tips, when doing it. Any comments would be appreciated.

Get a Yamaha manual and find a good ATV shop. The actual job is a piece of cake. Excluding getting the cylinders honed/cut, it can be done in an afternoon. 2-strokes are very simple and powerful animals.

Banshee's are easy to rebuild. Get a Yamaha manual before you start the project though. A couple of things when dealing with the rebuild - If you decide to have the cylinders bored+honed, you need to use a ridgid hone. You will also require engine assembly grease. Check all your clearances when you have the top end apart, and its a good Idea to clean your carbs, ect. while everything is apart. If you dont know how to "read" pistons, then take your old ones into a local bike shop and ask them what (if any) the damage was cause by. There is lots more, but that should give you a bit of a start.
