Improving the precision of my banshee controls (brake lever and twist)...advice anyone?

Let's start it. Last week, I took off that stupid parking brake, and changed the 3 ton original clutch lever/perch for an MSR adjustable. What a difference!!! No more play, just pure cable pulling.
I want to do the same with the brake lever and my crappy twist.
For the brake lever, I want to put a shorter one...and that doesn't move vertically!! Would a YZ lever fit? Or should I simply put plastic washers? Also, are the banshee calipers rigid enough? If I put steel braided lines, will I have a good strong feeling?
For the twist, same question....should I put a YZ twist, or fix the one I have with washers?

Racers...what controls do you have?

Thanks.
