help please.. installing emergency light

for the winter i would like to hook up my yellow spinning emergency light to the tail of my quad. it plugs into my car through the cigarette lighter, can i splice the wire and wire it to my battery with a fuse? can someone please share ideas to get this project started thank you

yes you can hot wire it that way but it will not shut off if you straight wire it without a switch or splice it in to an ignition wire. What i mean by this is you need to have a switch in between the battery (+) wire and the accessory (light). i am assuming you want to be able to cut it on and off, right?
heres what ya need:
1 x 12volt switch
1 x in-line fuse- use the right size fuse based on amp draw from the light
You will cut the cig. plug off and find which wire is hot (+). that wire will plug into the ACC on the 12 volt switch. then run another wire from the (+) on the battery into the in-line fuse into the 12 volt (+) side of the switch. then you will ground the other wire from the light (-) to the frame or wherever you ground items on your quad. there ya go, should work like a charm. i attached a diagram to help you.

thank you for the answer so i took an external cd player for my computer it had an on/off switch on the back of it can i use it for the switch to wire the light? it says 6a 250v t85 on the back of the switch
