I'm a newby to this list and have already learned alot, but I have not been able to find info on a couple of questions.

First, how good is the stock carb with handling mods such as hi-comp pistons, cams and exhausts. I plan on running a 10.25:1 piston, .390 wb cam ti springs and keepers, supertrapp and k&n filter. Would a 36 mm carb complete the package or is it not worth the money. All of my riding is trail riding, so the low to mid range torque are what I am after.

Second, I have heard from other warrior owners about connecting rod bearing failure with hi-compression pistons, has anyone else had this problem? With owning an 13 year old quad, I am wondering if I should go with new bearings in the motor. I want it to last a couple more years at least.

Thanks
Matt

I used to have a 1988 warrior. Just sold it a couple of days ago. To answer your questions:

Stock carb good for mods? Yeah. The preformance increase you're gonna get with a bigger carb is next to nothing. You should be fine with all those mods, you just might want to look through the rest of your engine when you have it apart to make sure nothing needs replaced or is worn out.

When you have your Warrior apart when you're doing these mods, check your bearings. I know I replaced the bearings in my Warrior at least once. Other than that you should be ok.
