TUDOR, YOU JUST MADE AN *** OF YOURSELF....NOW TO TODD....TODD, I AM A LEGAL EXPERT BUDDY....YOU CAN BE SUED FOR DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER "IF" WHAT YOU ARE SAYING IS NOT TRUE......I BELIEVE WHAT YOU ARE SAYING IS TRUE, THEREFORE, THIS MORON DOESNT HAVE A DAMN LEG TO STAND ON IN COURT, AND MR. MXBUBS1, unfamiliar with previous discussion, I don't know what you're talking about--I gather you're angry with someone, calling them names, using mildly euphemized profanity.

As to your legal expertise, "Freedom of Speech" protections of the Constitution prohibit only the GOVERNMENT from abridging expression; private entities, like ATV Connection (and the New York Times, Newsweek, etc.) are free to establish whatever publishing policies they wish regarding what they will and will not publish.

Thus, if you can't post on a topic, that's ATV Connection's call. If you can get by with the personal attacks and thinly-disguised profanity in your initial post on this topic, that's the ATV Connection's moderators' call also (although I THOUGHT personal attacks were contrary to the website's terms of use; my mistake). However, no one has a "right" to post anything the ATV Connection management does not wish on its website.

As to libel and defamation, an irate customer bad-mouthed a Volkswagen dealership on the 'Net; the dealership sued him; we await the results of that trial . . .

Also, the dealership sought a restraining order against the hosting website, for knowingly publishing libelous and defamatory statments . . .

If a website publishes libelous and defamatory posts, the website, along with the poster, may be exposed to liability. The same principles apply to the print publishing world, I should think.

By the way; I find posts in all capital letters harder to read and understand than ones with standard capitalization; I'd appreciate your consideration.
