I have had the Graydon Proline complete exhaust system on my 400EX. The low end torque is great and the bike seems to pull alot harder through the midrange and on top end. Graydon Proline also has some of the best service that you can get. The people there are always more than helpful with any questions I have. Take a look at there pipes on there web site http://www.graydonproline.com/

Sorry I got hot under the collar regarding your "loud pipes save lives" response. I guess it's a sore subject for me. After spending 10 years fighting to keep riding areas open, I have read literally THOUSANDS of letters from Anti-OHV'ers -- Each of these letters mention sound as either their main reason for detesting OHV's, or a secondary reason.

Anyone who hears a 110 dB engine will hear a 94-96 dB engine a second later. If there are hikers on bike trails, they will hear even the quietest bike soon enough to get out of the way. Typically a sound meter can pick up an 85 dB engine (TRX 90) at about a 1/2 to 1/4 mile away in even the densest woods.

When talking about aftermarket exhaust systems, sound IS part of the issue.

Since many non-users will make an impression of us solely based on our sound, the only place for a loud exhaust system should be amongst those who appreciate it -- on a closed course race track.

That said, the 400EX is the ONLY four-stroke that makes me want to ride with a loud system, since it really loves to run without back pressure! Real bummer since the thing checks in at about 110 dB with an open meg exhaust!

Fortunately, most riders who really know anything about four strokes understand the need for back pressure (on anything except the 400EX) and run a relatively quiet system -- not just for the decrease in sound, but for the increase in hp.

I have a '99 400EX that is still completely stock and I was thinking about the pro-circuit pipe too. Is it just a slip-on or a complete syetem? The one I saw was just a slip-on. Also, about how much did it cost?

Thanks
