MX SHOCKS

I would rather have the ELKAs over the custom Axis because:
Axis uses one valving system to control rebound and compression. So if you adjust the compression the rebound changes also. same if you want to change the rebound the compression changes. Elka uses two seperate valving systems so if you change the compression the rebound stays the same vice versa.
ELKA is cheaper than Axis
Elka uses a SSD to lower ride height

Roostin, I'm not sure where you got the info that an Axis shock has one valving system for rebound and compression. The axis shocks have seperate valve stacks for rebound and compression. You can go to
www.customaxisshocks.com and see their tech manual online if you would like. By the way, Axis is not afraid to post their tech manual and info online. The exploded view shows both valve stacks. You also said that adjusting one would change the other, but this is not true. The rebound adjuster is on the shock body and the compression adjuster is on the reservoir. They are in no way connected to each other, there is only a hose between the shock and res. If you adjust either **** it will not effect the other setting. Axis shocks are the premium shocks for atv's.

I may not have all the correct info but that is what I have heard. I also know that ELKA buys axis, pep, etc. shocks and test them against their elka's. So they know where they stand. I have not tried a set of Axis but I have ELKA's and they are really nice as well.

well I've said it before and I'll say it again. TCS are ELKA's just reworked. Axis, Elka,Tcs, PEP are all high quiltity shocks and you will be happy with whatever you pick. the performance is very close. If you compare the shocks (class wise) You most likely could not tell the difference. One thing I do no is that Axis powdercoats their springs to prevent paint chipping and what not. Just ask around to see what is more for you. But all your asking if is the Elka setup is better then the TCS. I would go with the TCS setup you listed because mainly the dual rate. The dual rate means it will be softer at first and harder to bottom at the end.
