I think a '70s CB750 was like 37HP. I'm sure the 440 is less and it will weigh a lot.

Project machines are usually worth less than the parts it took to build them.

livewire,,, you are way off the mark man,, the 440 2 cylinder did 100 mph at least bone stock when it was on the bike frame,, i dunno where you get the 750 had only 37, especialy considering that they were 3 and 4 cylinders. and if all you're going to do is bash on conversion and project quads, why in the heck do you come to the message board for them??? reply to someone if you're going to be helpful, or maybe if you actually plan on answering the question they ask, but if all your gonna do is flame on ppl, just dont reply at all, it'd save a lot of bullcrap on this forum. i've been building conversion quads for a while now, therefor i know that they ARE NOT worth less than the parts it took to build them if it's done right, and if they're done right, you can get a wad out of them,, just remember, mind before mouth

I meant to say 67HP. The point was that yours will be less.

The Warrior frame is a lot heavier and has a lot more rotational mass. I assume you are going to gear it lower to run on dirt. The resulting conversion will not go anywhere near 100 MPH.

I was not trying to flame you. I was trying to save you wasted time and effort.

Why use something that old? If you go to a wrecked vehicle auction, there are usually quite a few crotch rockets with low milage. People buy and wreck them within a short period of time.

okay, i understand on the 37, 67 HP thing, honest mistake... i use the warrior frame on purpose, because the motor is heavy, and a light frame would bend under the pressure from big doubles, and yes, i am gearin it lower, and i know that it will not reach 100mph, but i was juss tryin to prove my point that you were in the wrong about the 750's only being 37 HP, cause the 440 would run fast, and they are much smaller. i use older material because it is much cheaper, and a motor off of a crotch rocket, such as a CBR, will not hold up to the vigors of off road racing like XC and MX very well, they juss are not built to withstand that kind of abuse, the older 70-80 model kawi motors better accept the rough ride. and please dont try to say that you are savin me a waste of time and money,, so far, i have zero money in this quad, and i already have offers on it for $3,000, w/o any of the extra's i will eventually put onto it (lobo front end, triple rate shocks, douglas rims, raptor plastic). dont say it's a waste, many ppl love building their own quads, juss 'cause you dont like it, dont say it's a waste... but things are cool, we had a few misunderstandings, but it's alright. thanx.
