I have beautiful brand new chrome Graydon Proline nerf bars for my 250R, but i have yet to install them. I need to get them on, but i noticed that you have to drill here and there, and wouldn't want to mess anything up. How hard of a job is this? Should i just have the dealer do it?

 

On my Warrior the only drilling necessary was two holes in each footpeg to mount the nerfs.The Honda may require a different mounting system.
Most dealer shops probably haven't had any more experience installing them than you have anyway & they will charge you $40 to $50 for the on-the-job training. (per hour, that is)

 

I would have to agree..... I would not pay someone to mount the nerfs....
I have graydons on my Banshee.... It was not that hard to do... Four holes total to drill in the foot pegs... (thats if the 250 mounts the same way)

Since the nerfs are somewhat adjustable, you need to line each one up with the pegs and mark the holes with a center punch of some sort.... I would remove the pegs and put them in a vice for the drilling...since the pegs are usually made of steel..It could be a bit difficult to start the hole...I used a unibit-step-drill bit...it cut through with no problems.
The center bar should just slide into each nerf and mount to the frame with the provided clamps.. If your frame is in good shape...I would recommend wrapping the bottom tubes of the frame with friction tape before you mount the clamps....They will scrape the frame, causing rust after a while...

Good luck...but don't pay someone...it's not worth it.

 

I have Graydon Proline Nerfs on my 400ex and they are the same one's that go on the 250R the only holes you will have to drill is two on each foot peg. It is no problem do it youself and save some money.

I got them for my 400EX(best product I ever purchased) and its a simple job..I did it in about 2 hours with zero ATV intellagence of that sort.
