Has anybody ever used one of these? I work with plastic and I think High Density Polyethelene would be tougher than alum.

My buddy put one on his Foreman and after it was on he said the bolts used for mounting it were not recessed enough for his liking. He was afraid the head of the bolt would sheer off on rough terrain, making removal a little tougher than it has to be. Besides his word I have no experience with them. I'm pretty sure the aluminum skids have recessed allen head bolts. The plastic sounds like a good idea, I'm not sure about the mounting system.

Don't wprry about the bolt heads. I have used both plastic and alumiun skid plates and they both work good. I have put a fender washer on the bolt just to make sure that it does not come though the plastic or the metal.

Thanks for the repleys...I just made my own skidplate out of .187 thick HDPE, mounted it using the stock engine skid holes and the clamps from my nerfs. I just gave it it's first test and it seemed to work pretty good. Now I need to go and get my stitches...lol.
