Hey folks, quick question. I recently purchased an old ATC 200X which has an aftermarket exahust. How can I tell if it has a spark arrester or not? Im planing a trip up to a stat park which reqs it to have one but I would hate to drive 3 hrs up there and not get in because of that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

Do you know what kind of pipe it has on it?? Can you see a screen when you look in the back end?? Or, does it have discs (ther exhaust comes out from around the discs)??

Back in the 3-wheeler days the only pipe manufacturer I know of that had a spark arrester was Supertrapp. Is it a "trapp"?

If the pipe has a spark arrestor, it will be stamped near the end with something that reads like "equiped with a USFS approved spark arrestor" If you do not see a stamp like that, you are out of luck. That stamp is what the park rangers will be looking for, and if they don't see that, it won't matter if the pipe is actually a spark arrested type.

To find out if you have a spark arrester, just do what the dept of forestry does; poke a small stick in the end of the pipe and if it stops in the first few inches, youve got one.

Just some obvious advice, use caution. Dont use a sharp stick or push too hard.
