im only 14, so most of the stuff i know about my 400ex and how to work on it ive learned through various forums.
i have an old Manco minibike that ive had for years. after sitting in my garage for about 3 years, i got it out and started screwing with it. i adjusted the carb somehow and took off the muffler. i weigh 174 lbs, im 6 ft tall, and that little mini bike will go upwards of 30 mph on blacktop with my butt weighing it down.
the engine only puts out 3.5 ponies. although i would rather work \tinker with\ ride my quads, its still fun to get that thing out and roar down the road on.

 

Knowing nothing about your particular application.....is gearing an option?
