clutch problems?

i have a old 400 dirtbike 2 stroke. i figure this thing would be insane on the wheelies, it goes extremely fast, but it does not do wheelies.....at all. like first in first gear i hammer it to pop the front up, and it comes up very little, and then it over revs, and it falls down, like it revs really high, but nothing happens. its really lame, so i dont really know whats wrong. myt friend said it might be the clutch, but if you could please help me, that would be very nice. thank you

well, on my friends banshee, it does wheelies mad style in first, and the other gears, but i see what your gettin at, but it does it in almost all gears, especially third, and when i hammer it it like, revs normally, than it just over revs and its really weird. like, it feels like it should fly up, but it doesnt...hmm
but i dont know, i try to do wheelies in 2nd but its a real big gear the low and then wheit starts to rev up, it does the over rev thing again. And i dont really know what to do. if you or others could help out, it would be very helpful, thank you.

umm i dont know what kind of tranny fluid, i took it out and it was white! im pretty sure its not supposed to be white, that could be part of the problem, if not the problem itself. there is the stock pipe on it. i havnt did anything to that, (its really old so it would be hard to put a pipe on it), and the bike stays the same speed when it revs like that.

It was white because it had water in it. Try running Bel-ray gear saver. I would change your oil and run for about an hour. Then I would change it again and run for about 2-3 hours with a lot of clutch abuse. Change it again and it should take care of the problem unless the clutch is totally worn out. If it is totally gone, you are looking at about $100 at least.
I bet DG makes a pipe for it. They are into the vintage racing stuff.

The problem is definitely with the clutch. Like others said, the milkiness of the oil is a sign of water and you should change it. However, I believe the clutch slipping problem is caused mostly by something else. The first thing to check is the clutch cable free play. There should be a small amount of movement to the clutch lever and cable before you feel the clutch springs compress. If not, loosen the cable adjuster until there is free-play. If that checks out then the clutch cover will have to be removed as well as the clutch plates. If inspection does not reveal clutch plate wear, replace the clutch springs.

yesterday i rode around it with out the clutch on it, and i almost flipped it over because it flipped back. i think the problem was just a little to tight on the clutch cable, lol. oh well. i guess i gotta get a new clutch cable. and i adjust it right, at least it wasnt the clutch
