Okay, this is probably a dumb question, but after reading a couple of other posts, I'm a bit confused. Which side of the needle clip do you put the washer on? Above it or below it? I've got mine above the clip, and it runs great, but I'm thinking now that it should be below the clip (towards the tapered end of the needle which would raise the needle up). Please help.

I believe the spacers go below the clip to have any effect. The clip keeps the needle from dropping further into the slide, so if the spacers are placed above the clip, it wouldn't matter.

The instructions on Dynojet say to leave all stock spacers in....my '02 Warrior had no stock spacers, so I didn't need to worry about it. The spacers are for very fine tuning, in case you don't get the results you want with the standard clip settings your needle has. Kind of gives you a .5 setting, if you need it.

I just got mine in, and it sure makes a difference (after some adjusting).

Good luck!

Oops! Do I feel dumb....

I just now noticed your status is ProRider. Of course you know what spacers are for. Gosh, sorry about being so simple... was just trying to be humbly helpful.

Have a good one.

Well, the dynojet kit comes with one spacer (washer). It just said to put it on the needle, didn't say which side. I dunno. But the more I think about it, the more I believe it belongs below the needle clip.

And just because I'm a "pro rider" doesn't mean I have all the answers. This is the first carburator I've ever really messed with other than changing out main jets.

Okay, I just looked at the dynojet website, and this is what it says:

"Install Dynojet needle on groove# 3 for applications below 5000 feet, groove #2
for above 5000 feet, using all stock spacers. Install the Dynojet washer above
the E-clip."

So, it sounds like I did it right.

did you have any trouble with the Dynojet jesus clip? Mine didn't seem to want to clip on very well. I ended up putting the stock clip back on.

OK...now I'M really confused. If the purpose of the clip is to keep your needle stationary at a certain position in your slide, how does the washer above that setting work? Maybe it affects flow somehow, even sitting above the clip?

Gosh, sounds too much like Math!!! I don't get it.

Fun with carburetors!

10/09/02---just got an email back from dynojet who says the washer is placed ABOVE the clip for storage only. For use, it would go below the clip as a 1/2 increment setting.
