Does anyone know where I can get info on Arens frames? I am looking for an aftermarket frame for my 88 R, and am on a budget.

Arens can be reached at 517-593-2599
I ordered a chasis from them back in december.
It was for $1500. But I still haven't recieved it yet! I have seen a few of thier frames at different tracks and have spoken to the guys who own them and they have had no problems at all.
I'm sold on the quality and affordable price.
I just wish i would get it a.s.a.p. I talked to John Arens last week and he said it would still be atleast a few more weeks. I,m starting to worry. From what I understand, they make abunch of them at a time. They might not all be spoken for yet. Maybe you could get lucky and get yours if and when I ever get mine. Hopefully two or three weeks.

What all does that come with, I was told A-arms, swingarm and frame for $1500, what is just a frame? Do you know if he has a web-site?

I don't know if they have a web site.
What I'm supposed to get is a frame with removable subframe. The frame is constucted out of chromoly. It is supposed to be a stock replica, plus a few pounds lighter. I know that they also make swingarms, A-arms and steering stems which are not included in the $1500 price for the frame and subframe.

Iam just curious, but what advantage does a stock replica have? A few pounds will not help that much. Is it very much stronger? Ia m just wondering why you wuld spend 1500$ on a stock replica. Now if the geometry was different then I could see it. Do you plan to put on a afteramrket front end? Just wondering.

The reason arens sell frames with the same geometery as a stock 250r is because most of the people that buy them have old 250r frames with shocks, a-arms etc. If you buy any of the other aftermarket frames then you have to buy their a-arms etc. plus most of them cost around $3000 without their components. Also its made out of crome molly so not only is it lighter than stock, buts its also a lot stronger. Also all after market frames are based on 250r geometry. The only ones that are that much different are the Leager Protrax frame and the roll design lobo frame. Both are extreamly expensive and the only big difference is a slight relocation of the lower a-arm mounting point. Don't get me wrong, if i had the big bucks i'd own a protrax frame.
