Bypassing the Reverse Rev Limiter on 2001 Raptor
#4
The 01 Raptor had the limiter set to high, you could do 30 mph in reverse. The 02 and 03 models are the ones that you need to bypass the rev limiter so that reverse works. I think that it is the black and white striped one under the seat. If it is the correct colored wire run a jumper wire to ground and this will take care of the rev limiter on the 02 and 03 models. You will lose the rev light when you do this.

FYI: REVERSE REV LIMITER
Warning: Dangerous Modification
To bypass the reverse limiter on ALL model year Raptors is to cut the GREEN/WHITE wire
near the CDI box and ground this wire that goes into the ignition. This tells the CDI that
you are in a forward gear, however the ignition will not be able to turn on the
reverse indicator light.

Thanks for getting the color of the wires corect. Ny 2 friend that have Raptors had to do the wires because of the rev limiter kicking in in reverse. On the 03 model he was not able to back up on flatground with out the limiter kicking in. One time he had to get off and push just like my 400. did I get some good milage aout of that one.
