well, i truly didn't know the compression of the engine until you asked, so i went outside and checked it tonight. both cylinders are just below 115 psi, so i'm in pretty good shape. to keep the thing running to it's peak performance, i upgraded the air cleaner to k&n, threw on the motion pro tors eliminator kit and change the oil after just about every ride. i ride hard and like to jump alot, to answer your other question. what's the verdict on your machine?

I just bought my 99 banshee about 1 month ago. I waited for the the right "stock" machine and finally found it. The guy bought it about 8 months ago, just before winter hit so he barely rode it. I basically got a brand new machine for 4900 bucks. The deals are there, so find the right one!
