DON"T blame her!! Smart woman! If yours is fixed right, the engine should last for years! Like I said,I've had guys try to get by on a top end only, but ended up having to tear into the bottom end. This area requires special tools, and its best like you said let the dealer do it for you. Good luck on the repair. OPT

Well when it rains it pours. I started it up again and let it idle while I backed my truck up to load it in the back. Off to the dealer to find the knock. I put in gear and pushed the throttle to drive it and the quad didn't even move yet and I heard a metal pop and it died. Won't start and feels like low compression. Going to pull motor out and send to Rick Ritter for a complete
Overhaul. Top and bottom. He thinks maybe rod bearing since old piston skirt was worn and possible broken ring this time. Sometimes i wonder if it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have no luck at all.

A bad lower rod or crank bearing can take out a new top end pretty quick! Its an expensive lesson and I've seen this a few times. It just puts pressure on the top end. That's why I always asked customers that just brought in cylinders to bore did they check for ANY play in the rod or feel or hear rough bearings. Just was trying to save them some grief when they put em back together! Expensive lesson,BUT when you get it back together it will be worth it! OPT
