Default 2005 sp 600 rear shock adjuster

Hello, I snapped the rear shock adjuster on my sportsman 600. Should I buy the adjuster or try and buy a whole used rear shock? I've never had one of these shocks apart so I really don't no if the adjuster would have to be pressed on. Any advise would be greatly appreiciated.

You have to be able to compress shock spring to remove the upper retainer( the shock tool and a vice makes it easy),remove spring and install new adjuster(just slides on). If shock is still good (not leaking or worn) you can buy just the adjuster and a shop can install for you. I installed new adjusters, shocks and springs for customers that just brought the shock assembly in. OPT
