if you didn't install a new carb kit or at least a needle and seat, probably the reason for all the gas. Plus the brass float arm should be level with the carb body when held upside down. Also if the float arm and pin are worn and wobbly, might be time to replace them too as they don't come in carb rebuild kits. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CARB-REBUILD-KIT-POLARIS-TRAILBOSS-XPLORER-XPRESS-300-/270464197468?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3ef8ec235c&vxp=mtr

Throttle cable adjuster on top of the carb "normally" has about 1/2-34" threads showing on the adjuster after you tighten the lock nut down, then adjust the tension at the throttle cable on the housing itself to where you have about 1/8" slack only. Item 11 is the split cable going to the carb and oil pump. Make sure when you press the throttle lever the oil pump lever is pretty closely timed to the action of the carb slide.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse Turn the choke cable adjuster in or out to where you have about 1/8" slack at the choke lever, then tighten the 10 mm lock nut on the carb.Normal air screw setting is 1 1/2 - 2 turns out from a lightly seated position.More turns out, leaner on idle jet, inward on screw is richer on idle mixture. Just experiment to where it's doesn't bog or hesitate when you give it throttle from an idle position. The big knurled screw is the idle adjuster. Just turn it to where you have a steady idle.
