04 700 Front drive shaft popping out of gearcase
#1
So i was getting the old quad ready for winter and decided it was time to replace all my u joints with new ones. So everything went good, put new retaining clips on the shafts into the gearcase and on the right front, it will lock in to the case and i cant pull out by hand but then i take out for a ride and work the suspension and it will pop out (not come out) but it pops out. i can take a hammer and smack it back it...but it continues to happen...any ideas on what to check out?

Its real easy to distort the circlips even when replacing them! Even though it seems to lock back in the groove when knocking the drive shaft back in,part of the circlip probably isn't! Try again on a new replacement! Trying to reshape the old one usually doesn't work too well either,I've been down that road too!
When installing the new one, just barely expand circlip to where it barely slips on drive shaft end and just work it down until it snaps in the groove without distorting it! OPT
