Default 1993 350L 4X4 reverse issue

I have a 1993 Trail Boss 350L 4X4, When i put it in reverse and push the throttle, it just bogs down, but when i hit the overdive button it moves fine. I have no idea where to start looking on this one.

Thanks for any help.

This is the normal response because of the reverse limiter module. It's designed to retard spark in reverse unless you deliberately push the over ride button which allows full power and also awd in reverse. These usually fail after a few years (I'm surprised yours still works!) Most people just disconnect the black wire from this module to eliminate it entirely and allows full power in reverse without having to mess with the over ride button. Most other atv's don't have this and a was just Polaris's way of a safety device. Depends on if you want to disable this or not. Look here on your model and will show location under the headlight area. The circuit board is under the fuel tank plastic on the drivers side to where this black wire connects. Just pull the connector from the board. Browse OPT

Yep, it's a safety feature. If it still has the warning stickers it will warn you that it has full power in reverse when you push the button.
