Default Bad pickup coil?

I know it's not a polaris but, I'm working on an 05 suzuki eiger for a buddy of mine and i'm getting a 0.1 or 0.2 reading on my digital meter from the pickup coil. I don't have a peak setting on my meter, nor do I have a analog to check and see if it's just going up and back down faster than my meter will catch it. But it does crank up and idle but after about (what seems to be)2500rpms it starts falling on it's face and i've ruled out everything else(except the cdi box)... I just need to know if it was a bad pickup coil, would it even still run? Thanks

If the pick up was bad you shouldn't even get spark. I wouldn't rule out the carb or if the Eiger has any sort of limiter(unless it's built into the cdi) Suzuki guys can give you better info than I can. OPT

I've been getting help from them but it seemed none of them knew they answer to that or they are on vacation but I've thought the carb the entire time but i just can't seem to get it any cleaner than it is on the inside. I was told there aren't any limiters on it unless it is the cdi that's bad. I know it's not my $$ but I sure wish I could find him a cdi that's less than $369+shipping... Thanks again OPT!

This seems like one of the times a good 10-15 buck online manual would come in handy! A lot better than guessing and throwing parts at it,plus should give you all the elec specs you would need. OPT

I've got one for it and everything else checks out within spec... that's the only thing I couldn't get to come back good. I'll pull the cover off this weekend and check it all at the source and make sure from there.

It ended up being the cdi box. I found out a friend of mine had an eiger a year older but was the same and tried his and it ran like a champ.
