What happens when I remove one of the sprockets is its very hard to get that sprocket back on b/c the chain is so tight.

Look back at my previous post,I caught my mistake You need to loosen the middle carrier housing bolts, move the housing FORWARD so the chain will loosen and have slack, then the sprocket's easy to take off and put back on,then tighten the chain after you're finished.

Okay so to do that I loosen off those two 5/8 bolt and then tap on the housing to get it to go forward?

Also, I took my recoil apart and lost the U shaped pin (I thinks its called a friction spring) would that piece from the 06 800 sportsman work for me?

Yes you move the housing forward,NO the 800 doesn't have a pull starter,so no it doesn't have a friction spring. Better check the garage floor

So I went to see what was wrong with the quad, (I had the battery on the trickle charger since sunday) and it fired right up. So from what I gather its either my battery or charging system

Crank it back up and see if it's charging 14 volts at the battery at a little above idle. If not you could have regulator problem, plus have the battery load tested. Could be just a dead cell in the battery not holding a charge if the charging system is ok..

If you have a good battery, the starting system is ok,then you shouldn't have to jump off a battery! Plus this can cause other electrical problems that can be expensive..

Very true, so when I do load test it it shouldn't drop below 9v?

O and when I do the put the new sheave in the recoil could I put some grease in the bendix?

What should I use to lubricate the middle chain?. And what should I use to lubricate the throttle cable?
