SP 500 ho no dash lights and no ignition power
Whilst re-installing my rad and fan today and had the bike running to clear any air from the cooling system.
Then the engine dies and won't start but turns.
Then all I have is the dash light.
Now I have nothing. No dash light, no starter.
The kill switch is in the run position, the battery is now hooked to the charger so good for 13volts. The three wires running from the + side of the battery solenoid have power. The yellow wire into the rear of the ignition has power.
When I turn the key to start, the yellow loses its voltage but nothing else goes live.
I've redone the earth straps at the chassis.
I've had problems in the past but usually lose wires at the solenoid.
Just double checked the yellow at rear of ignition and its live before I turn the key to 1 but not after. My power steering also kicks in when key is at 1. So there is power there.
ECM????
Help, I was just finishing my preparations to take the atv to Croatia in two weeks!!!!
Thank you in advance

Just for grins and giggles if you haven't had the battery load tested,I'd do this first. Can show good voltage, but when under a load amperage could drop if it has a dead cell and cause this problem. Plus check the 10 amp fan circuit breaker in the sealed pouch located under the front panel. I was thinking of Crimea not Croatia.. Didn't sound like too good of a vacation spot at first..

I can't believe it was crap between the terminals on the battery. I've been taking readings from the bolt in the terminal post which were giving 12.6v.
The winch cable at the front of the bike was reading 10.4v. Couldn't figure it out.
Took all the terminals off the battery and cleaned them off, bike started right up!
Lesson learned.
