Probably didn't do any thing by adding the fuel cleaner.Probably just a matter of time before the carb needed service. The manual helps, but several videos on you tube can help with the basics of tearing one down. Here's one a little different than yours, but still a Mikuni cv carb.Functions are still the same.

That video really helps me feel better about the project, thanks OPT!!
I called the folks out in UT that have the carb repair kit you gave the link to. They were awesome to deal with and I have the kit on the way!!
I spoke with Michael out there and he said that the float needle / seat sealing is a known and common issue hence the repair kit that they offer.
Will update this thread as things progress.

Received the carb repair kit yesterday and proceeded to remove the carb from the bike. WOW, for a few minutes there I thought I was going to have to completely disassemble the whole quad!! Managed to remove the float bowl with the carb still attached to the choke cable. Float needle rubber seal was in pretty bad shape. Replaced stem and seat, put it back together this afternoon. Fired it up and it is running great and so far no sign of leakage!!
Not sure if this was related but, lately it has not been starting on the first revolution or two, taking many revolutions while pushing the throttle to get it fired. So far this afternoon it would fire as soon as the engine turned over.
THANKS so much for your help OPT!!

Glad the kit helped. First time is a little tough on carb removal. That's basically how I worked on the carbs with the cables attached. You can still access top to bottom on the carb.If it continues to take more than a couple revolutions or so to crank, pull the recoil cover and clean around the pick up coil and flywheel area.Just a little trash/dirt around the pick up coil face can affect starting. Seal the cover back with a good rtv sealant, plus many have siliconed around the rope handle to help stop water entry.

I was gone all day today and when I got back I popped the key in and it fired up right away!
Thanks for the tip on pick up coil, I will keep that in mind and may do it anyway just because!
