Default Flashing battery light

I searched this issue and saw a few threads about it and some very helpful info, I'm just not sure where to go next with my issue... 2005 sportsman 500ho. Battery light flashes along with the speedo needle. Double checked with the dealer and the ecm was replaced under recall. quad was fine last year when i put it away and when I just got it out this year battery light and needle were flashing and the lo beams would not work (high beams did work). So i replaced battery and lo beams and high beams work now, but battery light and needle are still flashing. Dealer said that they cant replace the ecm again under warranty so if I wanted that done it would be out of pocket cost for me... Whats my next step in solving this?

As long as you're sure the new battery isn't faulty, load test can confirm if it is,plus all connections are tight, check that the battery is receiving around 14 volts at an idle. Simple volt meter test on the battery terminals as the ecm sends voltage to the battery among other functions including the fan circuit breaker and others. If it isn't charging probably the ecm is bad again. Not uncommon for this to happen as I've replaced multiple ecms on several different machines. The recall only pays for the first one. Plenty of them are on ebay for around $150.http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-2006-Polaris-Sportsman-and-Scrambler-400-450-500-OEM-Surepower-ECM-2005-PDM-/171576768506?fits=Make%3APolaris&hash=item27f2c5b7fa&vxp=mtr

As an added note you might try unplugging the ecm main harness, waiting a minute and plug it back up again. May just solve the problem. Just an after though on this..
