I have a low range shift rod pt# 5020824, 2 sets of ends & extra nuts ordered.

I should have O-rings here for the box - if needed. I should have ordered them so I didn't have to get the kits out and search through them. Can't be very expensive

Got the oil changed in the gear box.

After turning down the idle a little and adjusting the rods as much as possible until I get the new parts here - The machine seems to go into gear a little easier.

It does not want to come out of gear without turning off the machine.

It seems I read once that there was another possible issue with the shifting on these.

I am thinking it was something to do with the clutch.

Any idea on what my next thing to look at should be?

Hard shifting, creeping in gear is normally belt/clutch related. If you can shift ok through the gears with the engine off,but not with it running,I'd check into the clutches. Here's some posts from awhile back on this and what can be involved.https://atvconnection.com/forums/pol...-creeping.html

Hello,
What about the actual shift shaft coming out of the transmission? The reverse shift shaft is very loose and is leaking out of seal. I’m afraid to keep using unit as I believe it will brake off.
2001 Polaris sportsman 500 6x6
How do I remove this shaft and fix the seal and it from moving back and forth instead of moving around as it should.
Im not sure if it’s the actual shaft or if it’s a warn washer and seal.
Looking for help
