Default 1999 Magnum 500 Gear Selector O-Ring

I'm cleaning out my gear selector. Boot was ripped, and the oil was worse than mud. I don't see part 12 (o-ring) from the parts diagram. https://www.polarispartshouse.com/oe.../gear-selector

The slides don't want to come out, which is fine. Is the O-ring inside the chamber where the slides go, or does it sit on the notch on the outside of the slide? I'm thinking I need to get new O-rings for the slide?

O-rings are in grooves in the gear shift body. The spring and the bullet pin(10,11) have to be removed to pull the shafts out. If you're having to take it apart to replace the boot,no better time to replace the o-rings also. They always leak when they're this old. Lube the new seals before installation.Once every thing is back together, fill the bowl with 0w40 to where oil is just barely covering the shift shafts.

Got it - thanks. It's fully disassembled now. I pulled the middle dowel and the rest came apart as expected.
