Default 02' 500 Sportsman gear selector

I have some bad O-rings in my gear selector housing which has caused all of the oil to leak out. Can someone tell me what type of oil is best to use in there?
Also, I haven't taken it apart yet - do you know what size the two o-rings are? I'd like to pick up a couple before I take it apart.

10w-40 motor oil is specified, and i have changed mine with it before. when you fill it up , only fill it so that it is half way covering the rods. it will hydrolock if you overfill it. you will see the horizontal rods when you take off the cover.
