2005 ranger 700efi electrical issue no spark
#1
hello all,
I have a ranger xp 700 efi that will not start. I have found that there is only 5v at the primary of coil. This is connected to the red/blk splice circuit on the schematic,I have disconnected all components from the circuit one at a time and found no change in the voltage.I did discover that the fuel pump motor resistance to be near zero ohms compared to a new pump reading around 30 ohms. i suspect the pump has taken out the supply voltage from the ecm, although the pump runs when the key is turned on and does pressurize the fuel rail to the appropriate pressure. I am considering inserting 12v on this circuit to prove a bad ecm supply before ordering a new one, does anyone have any thoughts or experience with this type of ecm failure?
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance
