2005 Predator 50 Bogging Problem
I bought my son a 2005 Predator 50 and have been working to solve the off-idle bogging problem after warm-up (~10 min). Prior to warm-up, the quad runs just fine for what I can tell. I've read many posts from Old Polaris Tech on this issue and now I'm working to narrow down the problem. New carb, new gas, cleared vent on the tank, new plug, and new plug wire.
What reading should I expect when compression testing? I'm starting with this today.
If this checks out, I'm going to drain and clean the tank and carb, put on a fuel filter, and potentially adjust the needle position on the throttle and follow it all up by cleaning the exhaust pipe. ANYTHING ELSE I should look at?
Does anyone know the recommended factory setting for the throttle set screw on the carb? The air mixture screw does not seem to change the bogging scenario and closing the choke kills the engine. The spark plug is a nice chocolate brown color.
