Do you mean a 2000 Sportsman 335? NO 335 in 2001! Only made in 99 and 2000! Only governor that I know of that sounds like what yours is doing is that maybe the clutches need to be looked at,especially the rear(driven clutch)! Could be a broken spring or if the ramp buttons are worn down to nothing and possibly the helix has worn also,it can do this! Plus a good idea to blow out the clutch dust(open area only!) plus check for excessive belt stretch( lay a straight edge over top of clutches, maximum belt deflection when belt is pushed down is 1 1/2" from top of belt to straight edge) Also the front clutch has six (6) glide buttons that may be worn(spider tool required to disassemble the front clutch to replace these) OPT

Yes, definitely do the carb cleaning, plus replace the needle and seat! If it still winds out and doesn't hardly go anywhere, then look at the clutches! Sounds like its idled more than it been driven unless you got it backwards on the miles and hours!! Even then it would only have an average of 2mph over 1000 hr period? 90 year old previous owner?OPT

No, not 99 made! They were only made in 1999 and 2000! They never really took off(at least down here) because of low power out put mainly and when the 325 Magnum came out in 2000 more people were drawn to these. Sorry for all the problems you're having! Just depends on how it was maintained! Still not a bad machine once you get the problems solved! Good luck OPT
