Default RZR Seatbelts

Has anyone had problems with their seatbelts jamming? We've had our RZR out on the trails 4 times now and the seatbelts jam up every time. We are going through creeks, up and down hills, dirt roads, etc. Right now they are zip-tied to keep them from retracting too much. We ride with two other RZRs and they have had the same problem.

Lots of reports about seatbelts locking up on the RZR. You need to blow it out with a compressor, maybe a water hose, then try spraying some WD40 down in there. These thing seem to lock up with any debris that gets down in there. A lot of people have just swapped out the stock belts with some harnesses from aftermarket companies. I got mine online and they took about 1hr to install both. It feels much more secure, plus there is no jamming of the stock belts.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info - we've tried the air and the water but not the WD40. It looks like the harnesses may be the best way to go. Love the booster seat, by the way!

yeh that booster seat is pretty cool, i just got my RZR and main reason i bought it is so my 4 year old son and i would have something more enjoyable to do on weekends, but i was curious as to what i should do about the seatbelts? Replace them with a 4/5 point harness? Just keep the stock seatbelts? Or what? Also, who makes a good aftermarket 4/5 point harness for the RZR? And Eltex just wondering, but how old is your son/daughter that rides in that boosterseat? I'm wondering if i'm gonna be able to get away with just putting my 4 year old in the normal seat without having to put his carseat in the RZR?

That was one of the first things I got rid of. They are just car belts, not made for creeks and such. So I also put in 4-point harness. Get the ones with a shoulder pad. You will also need to get a mirror, since you will not beable to turn in your seat to look around. They are more of a pain to get into, (I'm a Big guy) but they really hold you. I paid 195 for the set, on ebay. They are very heavy duty but they do make nicer ones.. I just liked the $...

If you do replace them, I will tell you the tricks to changing them.

Otherwise try doing what Eltex listed except I would not use WD40, I would use a dry silicone spray.

I like the belts from DJ Safety. They're comfortable, are easy to adjust and hold you in place. The also seem to fit the kids well.

The only time I have ever had trouble with my Gen-1 RZR has been when I have stopped on an incline and then after re-entering the vehicle, they lock up. I'm not sure if it's set up like automotive applications with some type of pendilum activator or not......but when siting level I haven't had any problems.

Had both replaced under warranty. Driver's would lock-up on ocassion but passenger locked-up solid, even when removed could not get it to let go.

Hey there Capn'

Yea, I don't have any regrets on my RZR purchase !!

Have you had your to Glamis yet?

I flew into AZ a few years ago for 4-Stroke Wars 2 and trailered over to Glamis.

I would LOVE to get my RZR over there again !!!!
