thinking about getting a rzr

I've been behind guys on RZRs many times and they do perform well on the trails. Where we ride it's rocks, deep water/mudholes, snow, hills, hardpack, and very little soft sand. They are absolutely amazing in steep terrain. This video doesn't give the ledge justice. It's about 6' high and about a 70 degree slope. He has broken a few things like tie rod ends but he does thrash it very hard. From what I've seen other machines probably would have broken before the RZR did.

I just bought one in August and I really like it. Never owned a Polaris before b/c friends had them in the past and they were always in the shop. Over the years ive noticed them getting better(to me). So i figured id give it a try, plus I needed a 50" trail sxs and obviously this was the only one out. Ive now seen the new 570 and i would probably consider it now,its got great power and sells for less. Supposed to be a really good motor and new transmission than the 800 models. I have read that the 2012 models are having issues with the clutches it seems. Havent really heard the real cause, but there are a few whos rzr wont run past 35 mph or something like that. For more info go to rzrforums.com this is where i get my info. really nice forum, just like this one but all RZR

I think roadie actually hates his rzr- I know I've heard him calling it a "gay-zer" many times
I think he was saying something about liking the "t-rex" or something like that
he does punish that thing though- and drives that thing in places that most people wont take a big bore atv.
there was a short time when I was considering a sxs like a rzr but, I like being able to use my body to manipulate the atv- and you don't really have that option in a sxs.

the RZR with stock wheels fits through 50" gates, no other side by side does. Don't know if that's an issue or not.
STI makes wheels with the same offset as OE RZR wheels so you can maintain the 50".
We rented RZRs and spent more on repairs than we took in renting them so we had to quit renting them. Even our RZR 4 that we never rented is/was a money pit.
A lot of folks love them, I'm just not one of them.

I'd check out the new 570 too, its just as quick as the 800 and less money.
Maybe it's because they deleted the glove box out of the 570.
I wish Polaris had used the engine set up out of the 550 instead of cutting the 800 in half. I think it's a better set up. I think they should have added the ADC too.
The 570 also uses the same new clutch that they use in the 900 X.

I love my 2010 RZR S. I've had it for a year and a half, and so far the only reliability issues I have had is the front a-arm bushings wearing out every few months. I do ride it hard, jump every jump I see, and go thru every mudhole I can find. I have even had it on the motocross track at Busco Beach getting about 6ft of air - try that on the other SxS's! The regular RZR's do good, but they really need a 2-3" lift kit and some 26" tires for aggresive trail riding. If you're not going to do a lot of jumping that would be a good way to go. I like the 60" wheelbase on the S beacause it keeps the tires out of the 50" 4 wheeler ruts and keeps me from getting stuck in the deeper ruts. We ride some tight trails sometimes but I have not found a trail yet that I couldn't make it thru.
