Default Snorkelled!

Been pretty wet up my way and the trails are DEEP! Group of us went out last week and one of them swamped his pretty bad. Got a small bit of water in my intake (no damage) and figured enough is enough. Got some great DIY instructions and built my own for about $80. All that's left is to build a shroud to make them almost totally stealth since anything 6" over stock in MN is illegal. Looking forward to our next ride:-)

Pictures???? Remember a submarine is not a ship. It's called a boat by submariners.

I'm not planning on going as deep as they'll allow me because of all the other long term damage that can happen to other stuff but just wanted some re-assurance that I wouldn't run into any issues like my buddy did. Had his 2012 RZR out a week ago in the same area and hit a big hole he normally plays in without checking it out. Got in over his half windshield and hydro-locked it-not good!!!

Looks good, Switz. Ought to get some of that Krylon Fusion plastic spray paint to blend it a bit.

Painted them flat black. Thinking I might get some sheet metal and fab up/weld a shroud I can finish the same that will enclose them for the most part. Also have outerwears filter socks coming to keep the dust and such out.

Good stuff. Sometimes I think about it with some of the water/mudholes we've got up here in New England. They get a little deeper each year.

I hear you! The cost of replacing a motor, tranny, or diff from being swamped made it worth the risk of getting caught with them. Hope to start work on the shroud this week to totally conceal them
