2016 polaris ace 900 sp rack and pinion replacement
#1
Just some info for someone doing this job. In order to get the lower steering shaft out you have to remove the steering wheel and loosen up the eps to get the clearance needed to remove steering shaft. Also if you have a frame mounted winch you have to remove it to get to the bolts on the rack. I ended up removing all the front plastic and half the roll cage to make it more accessable. One problem I ran into was the frame mount on the winch has rivited thread to mount it to frame. One of them was not holding and spinning with the bolt. Had to cut the bolt head off in order to get the mount out. Once out I got the rest of bolt out. Going to weld the rivited thread piece so they will not lossen up again. Not the best design, since there is not enough room to access the rivited pieces incase it does spin.
