Back from Riding at the Hunting Camp

I am TRULY impressed..... This was the first real chance to put a thrashing on my 400 Scrambler.... What a machine ( if I had a 400ex, I'd still be turning the rear end around! LOL )I was up there alone, so I didn't push it really hard. I like the suspension, only bottomed out the front struts once. Part of the camp had about 100 acres logged, and the tracks that the skidders left roughed everything up really bad, the suspension sucked it up and I was moving faster in the rough stuff than my TRX300 does on flat ground. The engine made gobs of power and was never looking for more throttle. This was also the first time I got to jump the quad, and jumped both uphill and downhill, it has good flight manners ( I scratched up my helmet in the pine trees ). I ran the HPD pipe & clutch kit & stock muffler with the RCR airbox mod w/ a K&N filter and have no complaints about the combination. I can see that some minor tuning on the carb will be required to get it "just right".

Sounds like a great time! I am going to try out my newly modded Scrambler400 tomorrow evening. Now with that story in mind...I won't be able to sleep tonight...just going to think of my 4 day vacation Scramblin' through the woods!
Later.

Didn't do any hunting, the spring turkey season ended in April. In fact it was the first time I had been up there since before the first of the year. I didn't get ANY time off to go to the camp till now. I can see that we have some planting chores in the near future.
